"Arise, shine; for the light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you." (Isaiah 60:1)
Who are the people you spend the most time with? They could be your family. They could be your employer or co-workers; they could be your friends. Do you think those that are lost need to be saved? Do they know that you are a Christian? Do you know that as a disciple of Christ, you are a light of the world? Imagine groping in a prolonged darkness and suddenly a light has shone.
Why do we need our lives to be good examples to other people?
Jesus said, "You are the light of the world." (Matthew 5:14a)
"A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5:14b)
"Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house." (Matthew 5:15)
"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) We must not only endeavor to glorify God ourselves, but we must do all we can do to bring others to glorify Him.
If we care about those people who live in sin, we should be anxious to reflect Christ in our lives that they may be saved. And if we desire to glorify God, we should be zealous to reflect Christ that men may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Only those who reflect Christ are those who have been rescued from the darkness to walk in faith having the light of life, that is, eternal life.
God bless. |
